I’ve always been a sucker for anything design - whether it’s sketching the floor plans for our dream home, to pairing fonts together, being creative has always been my passion.
When I was in college at the University of Kentucky (Go CATS!) I had a knack for starting small businesses which led to creating websites and logos for each of them. I realized that I had more fun creating the brand, and from that Salt + Spruce Creative was born. Fast forward 10 years, and here we are!
I am married to my best friend and we have a German Shorthaired Pointer, Tux. We relocated to Savannah, GA in the fall of 2021. As of October 2022, we welcomed a sweet baby boy to our family!
Hey, I'm Jenrette, the founder behind Salt & Spruce!
Growing up, I was surrounded by creatives and business owners - my mom started her interior design studio, my great-grandfather started an ice company, my grandmother loves to paint, my aunt is a photographer. You could say being an entrepreneur is in my blood.
I always had a passion for design - from architecture to photography to logos - I loved it all. While in high school, I started getting into sports photography and eventually started a business my senior year of high school. That grew as I attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington. I loved horses too, so being in the horse capital of the world and being a photographer was icing on the cake! I also started a small clothing company called Candler Huntley during this time, specializing in t-shirts for sororities and fraternities on college campuses. This is when I really got into the design and creating graphics.
After being in Lexington for a few years, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina where I grew my business and morphed into wedding photography. I also started my design business which eventually grew into Salt + Spruce Creative.
In 2015 I moved back to my hometown in Georgia, moving my photography and design business with me. I loved weddings and capturing love, but I realized I loved the design side of my business more. I joke all the time that I “retired” from weddings in 2019 — it was time to focus on one aspect of my life.
Over the years, Salt + Spruce has served a variety of clients from wedding photographers to interior designers to horse farms. A lot of creatives niche down to only focus on one group, and while that is wonderful for them, I love working with all sorts of service-based businesses and entrepreneurs. I have so many passions myself, so why limit myself to only certain people? I love the challenge and learning more about each and every one of you.
Our name comes from the two things that inspire me the most — the sea and the mountains. The rolling waves, the sand between your toes, the crisp mountain air, the blooming rhododendron… these are the things that inspire me and get my creativity flowing.

Man... where to start! I'd love to have a successful business that allows me to be home with our son. Besides that, I'd love to have land with some horses... own a stationery shop... the list goes on!
I only like cold coffee (yep, even in the winter!), but I have a few go-to’s — my current fav? Salted Caramel Cold Foam Cold Brew. It’s a mouthful to order, but oh-so-yummy.
I have quite a few actually! I love to be outside — whether it’s camping, bird hunting (pheasants and quail in particular!), hiking, or just hanging out on the boat. I also competed in dressage for 18 years, and trained off the track thoroughbreds.
I married my best friend 5 years ago! After struggling with infertility for almost 3 years, we welcomed our sweet baby boy, Brooks Hampton, to our family in October 2022. We also have a German Shorthaired Pointer, Tux, who is our first baby.
It’s definitely a 3-way tie between Highlands, North Carolina, Savannah, Georgia and Lexington, Kentucky. Though I wasn’t born and raised in any of those places, they all feel a little like home to me.
Besides our template shop, we offer custom and semi-custom website design and branding to help you attract your dream client and achieve your goals.
